Australia’s $250 Million Investment in Sports: Aiming for Olympic Excellence

In a significant move to bolster its sporting prowess, Australia has announced a substantial A$385 million ($250.98 million) investment in sports over the next 18 months. This funding aims to enhance athlete preparation for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter and 2028 Summer Olympics while promoting grassroots participation nationwide.

The investment, unveiled by the Australian Sports Commission, will support 70 sports, with 95% of Olympic and Paralympic disciplines receiving increased funding. Notably, the allocation for Para sports will double, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity and excellence.
